AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP THEORY
All together each theory allows me to evaluate my leadership experiences academically and show the different ways I have developed through my artifacts to the final outcome I am pursuing; Authentic leadership.
The Authentic Leadership theory is still in a formative phase but I enjoy that this final theory provides the connection of how I will utilize the previous evaluations to come together to understand the final goal I am striving for (Northouse).
One definition of Authentic Leadership is that “authentic leaders exhibit genuine leadership, lead from conviction, and are originals, not copies,” (Northouse, 254).
In a way, through my experiences I am trying to form my own style of leadership that is unique to myself.
This process emphasizes that a leader’s life experiences and what they attach to those experiences is critical to the development of the authentic leader (Northouse).
